About the Author
Thirty years ago, John weiss allowed a neighbor to plant corn on his land in southeastern Ohio. In return, he was to receive a percentage of whatever the corn sold for at market. Instead, he told his friend, "Leave my share standing in the field for the deer." That was his first food plot and he's been working with them, and benefiting all manner of wildlife, every year since. What he's learned has often been through simple trial and error. But mostly, his success has come from working with wildlife biologists, agronomists, and other hunter-landowners around the country, and his insight is sure to benefit your own efforts. Weiss holds a master's degree from Ohio University and a good deal of his hand-on research is conducted on his farm in Ohio where he lives with his wife, Marianne, and maintains numerous experimental food plots and clover plantings. He's written hundreds of articles for sportsmen and this is his nineteenth book.
