About the Author
The late H. H. Davidian was widely recognized internationally as one of the leading authorities on the genus Rhododendron. He had been associated for over 40 years with the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, and devoted his time principally to the study of this group of plants. Edinburgh has, since the first introduction of Rhododendron species from China and the Himalayas, been a principal center for the study and taxonomy of the species.
