Magic Lanterns: Creative Projects for Making and Decorating Lanterns for Indoors and Out
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Before electricity, candles and oil lamps were the primary source of light in the home. The lanterns housing these light sources provided protection from fire and served as wondrous decorative pieces. Today, lanterns have once again become popular for their ability to bring a touch of warmth and comfort into the home.
With Magic Lanterns, readers will explore dozens of easy projects that require no experience or special skill, just a desire to be creative. Many of the projects rely on recycled materials and are therefore inexpensive to produce. The range of lanterns varies from the simple painted jar suspended on a string to huge illuminated bamboo, wire and fabric carnival floats.
