About the Author
The author, Fred Diehl, has been a toy collector for over 30 years. It started with collecting Matchbox models with his father at train shows and progressed to other toys of the 1950's and 1960's. Vintage "Never Removed From Box (NRFB) Barbie" dolls and outfits are another favorite and it was this foray into "dolls" that a fascination and love of My Merry began. The author has written a book and magazine articles on Matchbox models for several years (store displays and gift sets are favorites) and currently writes NRFB Barbie articles for Barbie Bazaar magazine. Old cameras and automobiles are also of interest to the author. He lives in Baltimore with his son, Andy.
