Book Description
Continuing the 'Crystal for America' series, this volume covers pressed patterns, cuttings, etchings, and decorations, and includes the popular Coin, Colony, and Century patterns, the Henry Ford Museum Collection, and a host of other patterns, collections, and giftware produced by the Fostoria Glass Company in its last 42 years. Milkglass and Ebony glass have their own complete sections, as do the pieces introduced in the American and Navarre patterns during these years. Original company materials and 80 color photographs are featured throughout the book. 1999 values. AUTHORBIO: A retired teacher, Milbra Long has been a researcher for years, offering articles to many publications. She volunteered for the research committee of the Fostoria Glass Society of America, and served on the board of directors. She and daughter, Emily Seate, are co-authors of the book series: Fostoria: The Crystal For America, as well as the Fostoria Value Guide. AUTHORBIO: Emily Seate has been a writer of fiction and poetry for most of her life. She is a philosopher, preferring long hours spent in thought to just about anything, except shopping for Fostoria glassware. She and her mother, Milbra Long, are co-authors of the book series: Fostoria: The Crystal For America, as well as the Fostoria Value Guide. REVIEW: This book shows the diversities in products and presentation of pieces by the Fostoria Company, until it closed the factory in Moundsville in 1986. The authors have presented this complex period as simply as possible, providing original company catalog pages and detailed photographs.
