About the Author
Jim Faraone is an avid fashion doll collector who has a collection of over 3,000 fashion dolls and related items, in addition to other doll related collections. Jim publishes his own non-profit quarterly publication on paper dolls titled Paper Doll Pal, which features old, new, and future paper dolls and the original artwork from paper doll artists today. A respected artist, Jim has had his artwork featured twice in the UFDC publication Doll News. His artwork has also been the featured souvenir at the North Carolina Paper Doll Convention and has been on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He also created a paper doll of "Striker", the 1994 World Cup Soccer mascot, which appeared in papers throughout the world. His articles on the Barbie doll and paper dolls have appeared numerous times in Contemporary Doll Collector. He has also covered the Barbie doll conventions and paper doll conventions for this publication. Jim is internationally known in the collecting field and is actively involved with many conventions. He organizes and runs many of the Artists Galleries which feature the new work of professional and non-professional artists.
