Wet Pets and Other Watery Tales
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
In Wet Pets and Other Watery Tales human guardians relate how their family pets enjoy and meet challenges presented by the water, whether it\'s scrabbling aboard a boat in an ocean port or hitting the shower in a suburban home. From Cato "with hair slicked back, ears laid flat against his little skull, cat-paddling like crazy" for a nearby island, to Buster, his backside firmly planted in a child\'s car seat and Chester, obeying a very special command from the skipper, the cats, dogs-and even ducks- depicted in this book should warm the heart of any animal lover.
About the Author
At the time this book was put together, the Wet Pets editors were inspired by their cats- Hazel Weidman by a rescued street cat named Sweep, and Jackie Teare by two shelter cats-a-feisty feline named Murphy and a sweet, scaredy cat named Suzy. Both editors served on the board of directors of the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue league, and they remain shelter supporters. Jackie started the CRARL newsletter, The pet Connection, in 1994 and has remained its volunteer editor. Wet Pets is Hazel\'s brainchild, and the book, under her guidance, took form over the five years of its creation.
