About the Author
Robert Dawson's collection of photographs include a fascinating array of people and places; from the native inhabitants of the beautiful Cook and Fiji islands in the Pacific, to Native Americans on reservation lands, to working cowboys in the mountains and prairies that make up what was once the Old West. His collection of cowboy photographs was compiled over five years and has become the focus of his work. Dawson, who once worked as a cowboy on a Arkansas ranch, has traveled the West extensively, much of the time on horseback. He was born in Bellaire, Texas, and now makes his home in Cave Creek,Arizona when not on location.
Writer Tammy LeRoy lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a free-lance journalist, she writes on a variety of topics, including present-day ranching and cowboy life, but her paticular passion is the history and folklore of the American West. LeRoy's book, Living With Arizona's Ghosts, a collection of stories by those who live and work in currently haunted sites, will be published in 2001.
